Feast of Saints Constantine and Helen

Feast of Saints Constantine and Helen tomorrow May 21st. Constantine the Great was born in 274 AD. His father was Constantine the 1st Chloros and his mother Eleni from Drepano of Bithynia. The Lord wishing to help him in his struggle against Maxxtius and Likinion then formed in the sky the sign of the Cross with the inscription " Here, Nika. "Shortly before he died, Constantine claimed the Holy Baptism, and immediately he said," Now it is true that I am a bachelor of this, now, of immortal life, I am astonished, now I believe in divine light. " Now, that is, according to the word of truth, I know I am a blessing, now I have become worthy of the immortal life, now I have believed that I received the Divine Light. He was sacrificed at the age of 63, on May 21, 327. History called Constantine the Great, and the Church proclaimed him Saint and Isapostolos .... Constantinople, the first Christian city Churches, palaces and hippies ... Constantine had made a sacred mechanism that would feed this city with an indestructible force. In the new city, Constantine will initially try to keep the balance between the old and the new ones. At the acropolis of the city there were temples dedicated to Rea, the mother of the gods and the goddess of Luciferus of Rome. However, over time, the forms of the ancient gods of the Greek and Roman pantheons began to be replaced by the Christian. Where the temple of Aphrodite was located in the ancient Byzantium, Konstantinos constructed the famous basilica of the Holy Apostles in which the Byzantine emperors would be buried. Constantine city will soon become the first Christian city in the world, the seat of the eastern empire that will develop and dominate. Saint Helena was the one that gave M. Konstantinos the proper education. Besides, he himself honored it when, in the great square of Constantinople, he built two columns, one of his own and one of St. Helen, which had the inscription: "In the Holy One to the Lord Jesus Christ, give thanks to God the Father, Amen." Saint Helena helped build the first great sacred churches of Christianity. He died peacefully in 327 AD. At the age of 83 years.
